In 2016, Krista Breilh (then Krista Hengesh) started Live Salted her senior year of college out of the shed in her backyard, but that is certainly not where Live Salted began. As a ministry, we are convinced that the Lord has planted seeds in our lives and is tilling the ground and waiting for the perfect moment for them to grow. This was the case for Krista. She always knew she was called to be Salt and Light. When she went to college to continue being that person, she felt alone and isolated in her faith, questioning if it was even worth it to follow God when it seemed like everyone was against her. She turned online to find some resources based on Scripture and couldn’t find any. That lack was the gap God called Krista to fill by creating Live Salted.
