Creating Creative Spaces to Connect with God and Others

February of 2021, the Covid-19 Pandemic was not yet over. The ability to safely gather was growing but limited, and the world was beginning to understand just how crippling isolation could be.

The enthusiastic response to our Couch Conference the year before taught us that women hungered to connect, even if it meant meeting in virtual spaces. And this time, with one year of experience under our belt, we planned to have more resources and more opportunities for participants to interact.

On February 27, 2021, our Pursed Conference went live and through partnership with volunteers, speakers and a donated studio space—we gathered 200+ women from around the States!

The day was a wild ride filled with prayer, worship, topical breakouts, small groups, and optional activity-based sessions like yoga, a HIIT workout and a guided prayer walk.

God’s Relentless Pursuit 

This year’s conference was all about Father’s pursuit of our hearts and His creative ways of pursuing us, His children.

Founder of Live Salted, Krista Breilh, spoke about the Father’s pursuit of our hearts as His daughters, while Pastor Amreitha Jeeva of Kalos Church led a conversation about the enemy’s pursuit. She taught on the practical steps we might take to address the lies of the enemy and put him in his place so we might better hear God’s voice. 

We participated in a “How to Read Scripture” workshop with Coach and Speaker Emily Jamieson and learned “How to Pursue God in the Long Haul” with Joy Zorn.

In our breakout sessions we discussed pursuing God with our bodies, our singleness, and our passions. We learned how God pursues us through seasons of anxiety and depression. And some of us opted into the virtual workouts that kept our blood pumping and minds clear through our full day of learning and reflection.

He Designed Each of Us For Connection with Him

This year, we felt our hearts expand for our sisters in the Deaf and hard of hearing community. Imagine wanting to attend a conference like this one (curated for convenience and easy access) only to discover you had no path to fully access the material because American Sign Language (ASL) is your native language and English your second. In 2020, during our Couch Conference, we were able to serve one attendee’s needs with the help of an ASL translator. One year later, we were equipped to meet her and her five friends right where they were! If you want to listen to her testimony, you can do that here!

What a beautiful reminder of our Heavenly Father’s goodness and pursuit of every one of his children.
