“We Just Need To Host A Retreat”

At the end of every conference during our debrief, someone inevitably says, “we just need to host a retreat.”
So, we decided to do something about it!
Surrounding our 2023 Embody conference, we built a retreat that started on Thursday night and ended on the Sunday directly following our conference. We never know what we will experience when we plan events with the Lord, and this year, as usual, we were blown away by what He did!
One United Goal: Freedom
From college gals to working post-grads, a few empty nesters, and everyone in-between, 14 women showed up expectant to find new depth in their relationship with Jesus and one another.
Long time friends of Live Salted, Becca Rennaker and Kristi Gustafson hosted the weekend and were our speakers. Together, they championed one thing—freedom. Discussions centered around true identity, breaking off strongholds, and receiving and giving forgiveness. The women who arrived at the prayer retreat left transformed and free.
Here is one testimonial from a woman who attended our retreat experience.
“I was amazed at how many specific things God was sharing with me through the women that spoke either from a stage or to me specifically. Last weekend I had a heart-to-heart with my husband sharing what I wanted to let God heal trauma in my body. Days later at this retreat, Becca prayed something so specific over me related to that trauma. I felt so seen. It was so Spirit led- nothing was scripted off of an agenda. Usually, I struggle with receiving, but God allowed me to receive.”
A Text Thread That Never Stopped
What started off as 14 strangers from all across the States and Canada quickly became so much more. Even on night one, Becca and Kristi scrapped their ice breaker activities because the ladies were already ready to “go there.” They came hungry for connection and freedom, and it was felt.
Before they knew it, a sense of safety filled the room, walls dropped and emotions came out. Months after the retreat ended, women are still texting in the group chat, asking how everyone is doing and planning ways to meet up again. To us, that is a sign of real, authentic community and friendships being established. From the late night chats, to honest conversations, to vulnerable times of prayer and everything in between—this retreat was one we will never forget!
