Power of Gathering Together

Ladies, wow. This event was something else! Before the first worship song began the Holy Spirit chills were in full force. On May 5, 2018 women between the ages of 15 to 60 from all over the Beaverton, Oregon area gathered for a day focused on the idea of residing in the Kingdom of God.
Throughout the day, we discussed the precious gift of time and how to make the most of it by keeping an eternal perspective.
We talked about how emotions are indicators, not dictators, and how one of the most powerful questions we can ever ask is, “God, what do you want me to know about this?”
We talked about the importance of community and standing FOR your sisters and not against them. And finally, we talked about how we cannot just hear truths and sit with them, but rather need to GET OUT and do something about them. God has called us to a life of adventure and action, and we want to be the women to do just that—be doers not just hearers.
We are thanking and praising our Father for what He did, and what He will continue to do in the lives of the women who attended, those who volunteered, and those who were part of the inner team. When you work and do life with God, EVERYONE benefits from it!

Our Time on Earth Is Temporary
Have you ever taken a second to think about what eternity really means? It’s a pretty crazy concept yet, it is what the basis of our faith in Jesus is all about. Jesus died so that we could live in heaven for eternity with Him in perfect unity. It is a pretty crazy concept to wrap our head around, let alone live out every day.
Krista set the tone for the conference by elaborating on this topic with a demonstration. Everyone was given measuring tape and told to move their finger down until they hit the number representing the average lifespan of someone living in the United States. She then told us to ripe the paper off at that point and hold that tail end of paper in our hands. She then told us that this is the section of time that we are living for.
As believers, we live our time here on earth in preparation for our time in eternity with God in heaven. This activity may have made some people uncomfortable, but it was the reminder that many of us needed—just how important it is for us to live our lives for Jesus every day!
