A Night of Celebration, Vision, + Partnership

After eight years of active ministry, it was time to host our very first, in-person fundraiser! So on November 15, 2023, on a cold, and dark Wednesday night, Kalos Church graciously opened their building and we gathered to celebrate all the Lord has done through Live Salted.
That night, we casted vision for where we believe the Lord is taking us as an organization, and invited others to partner with us to make it happen.
The night was a huge success! We spent the evening with those who have partnered with Salt for years, as well as people we met for the very first time. We were so encouraged by the reminder that when we create space to remember all that the Lord has done, it creates anticipation for what He will do next. We raised $21,900 for the ministry!
“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” Your ways, God, are holy. Our Three New Pillars.
After enjoying appetizers and drinks, we settled in over dinner to hear from Krista Breilh, our Founder and Executive Director, about where the ministry is headed as a whole.
A lot has changed since 2016, when Krista kicked off the ministry with a conference in Orange, California. After sharing a brief summary of Salt’s history, Krista’s eyes lit up as she talked about where she feels the Lord taking us as a ministry. She feels that we are called to:
- Be Local – After hosting events in Washington, Oregon, California, Texas, and New Zealand over the years, Krista feels there is a very clear call to the Greater Seattle area. We will focus on serving women in the Greater Seattle area and supporting them in their pursuit of Jesus.
- Be Intergenerational – In its early years, Live Salted was perceived as a college women’s ministry because Krista was in college herself. Now, as a wife and almost mother, Krista sees the positive impact of doing life-on-life with women who are both older and younger—in age and spiritual maturity.
- Be a Church Partner – As a para-church organization, Live Salted is a big supporter of the local church. Our heart for the future is to continue learning about the needs of the church and how we can support them. Our attention will focus on the needs of their female staff as well as the women within their congregations. We’re excited to share that this year, we announced our first official partnership with A Seattle Church and Reach Church. We are so eager to see where the Lord takes us!
Elizabeth + Tahni’s Friends: One Only God
At Live Salted, we are all about story. We observe Jesus teach and preach through story in the New Testament, and that’s enough for us to believe in the power of testimony ourselves. During our fundraiser, we highlighted three stories from our community.
- Caleb Peterson spoke from a husband’s perspective on the changes he has seen in his wife Bianca because of her involvement with some of Salt’s online courses as well as the Embody conference and Retreat.
- Showcasing our online impact, we heard from Elizabeth Roberts who had recorded a message for us from England. She shared how Live Salted helped her build friendships both online and in person. She also shared how she will be traveling to the States to meet two of her Live Salted friends in person this year!
- We wrapped the night with a message from our Director of Events and Operations, Rochelle Hagenlocher. Her raw and vulnerable testimony reminded us that betting it all on God will often take us outside of our comfort zone—and at times, make us question if God will show up in the end. However, on the other side of these challenges, is a deeper intimacy with Him that reminds us the journey was worth it.
