MOMENTS
On February 4th, 2017 more than 250 women squeezed together in the Youth Room at Southlake Church in Portland, Oregon for a packed day of community, worship and teaching on how to live expectant of God’s movement in our lives.
We left that day feeling united as ONE body of believers, charged to go out and live for the Lord in an “adventurously expectant” way while asking God “what’s next.”
The day seemed to fly by. Before we knew it, we were already at the last worship set of the night with handfuls of women walking to the front for prayer. Women asked God to set them free from past strongholds, insecurities, or wrong beliefs about who He is.
This time together was moving. It was powerful, and many women left that day forever changed. Thank you Jesus!

“I am full of hope and joy of the Lord. I am confident in the things He has done, is doing, and will continue to do in me and through me. He will lead me to do big things to make His name known. I am purely His and I am starting to let Him heal me.” Conference Attendee
Ladies, the power of prayer is real! We were about an hour out from our event wrapping up with a powerful worship set when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, the power went out.
And when the power went, so did the sound system. Within minutes, we had brought candles to the front of the room so our speaker, Robin Verner, could see her notes. She spoke from deep in her soul and even without a sound system, her words carried to the back of the room.
Sitting in the back, Krista Breilh, Salt’s founder, and Emily Jamieson, another speaker, talked about how to proceed. Did the Lord want them to end the event in this humble quiet intimate moment? Or did the Lord want them to roll up their sleeves and pray these lights back on? They’d heard that everyone in the area had lost power and it would be hours before anyone had it back.
Krista and Emily desired to end the evening with worship, all voices raised as one to the Father but that would require a working sound system. So, before rejoining the women waiting in the dark, they prayed and asked the Lord to let His will be done.
They went back inside the room, and a few minutes later, the disco ball light turned on! Another second passed and all of the power returned. IT WAS AMAZING. The Lord works in mysterious ways and as a team, we believed that someone in that audience was asking God for a sign and maybe that was exactly what they needed to say “yes” to the Lord for the first time!
