“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”– Matthew 18:20 NIV
God meant for us to be image bearers. To create and cultivate. And nothing guides us into that space – into our natural relationship with Him – more than gathering with community in His name.
Throughout Covid, we were surrounded by trials. Being physically limited from the world, emotionally limited from friends and extended family, and mentally at risk for more attacks from the Enemy.
For me, the intense isolation of Covid was timed poorly.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s never a good time for a worldwide pandemic!
I had my son Clark one month before lockdown. And the expectations surrounding having a baby definitely don’t include keeping family at a distance.
It was a heartbreaking season of wanting and needing love and support from community, when in reality all I experienced was feeling distant and forgotten.
But even in this, the Lord prevails.
Covid promoted isolation, distance, hurt feelings, broken families. But God was at work for us even in these hard times.
During my darkest places of isolation, God met me and reminded me of His presence.
All my need for love and support from family had taken the forefront in my mind. It became my idol. And the fact that it had broken my spirit was a direct result of the enemy using my idols against me.
And as I came to this realization, I was able to see how the experience of hurt from isolation could be turned on its head to form a future full of community and love – especially love for Him.
The enemy plants seeds of destruction. But we can take those seeds and use them against him. He wanted isolation to bring hate and loneliness, but God wants to use it to build community and outreach.
When building the Weekender Experience, this is exactly what I kept on my heart through the planning and execution process.
I am Rachael Baer, coordinator of Live Salted’s first Weekender Experience.
If you haven’t heard of “the Weekender” until now, that’s because it is brand new! This is the first conference where we are offering this opportunity – and we can’t wait for it!
In a nutshell, “the Weekender” is an all-inclusive three day retreat surrounding Salt’s Legacy conference in Seattle. This weekend was created for women who want to gather together and deeply immerse themselves in God’s Word, in prayer, and in His COMMUNITY.
Back in October, Krista and I had a conversation about this idea. After two years of an isolating pandemic world, riddled with quarantines and Zoom calls, we felt the need for deep in person connection – and we knew we weren’t alone. We talked, hoped and dreamed asked ourselves what we can realistically plan, and then took all of it and gave it all to God.
And, as you can guess, He is already answering in big ways! Women are signing up – and I am already so expectant for when we all get to be together in person and spend a weekend learning about Jesus and one another!
As the coordinator of the Weekender, I will personally be with you every step of the way. From the moment you say “YES!!” through the last minutes of our post conference reconnect.
My thing – what I am here for – is to make sure you are seen, known, and set up for a weekend of exploring your relationship with Christ while standing alongside your sisters!
Are you in? Want to invest in your faith and see what God has for you – sign up today before all of our spots sell out!
In case you want to know a little more about me here you go!
Building lasting relationships and community comes first for me – and that starts at home.
This is my team. Trent is my college sweetheart who I married soon after graduation. He leads our family with a foundation of fun and has the most loyal love for everyone he calls family. We have four kids under the age of three – Billie, Flora, Clark, and Redmond. Staying home to raise these babes full time has taught me what it means to love when life is sweet as well as when it’s hard and crazy.
This family is my eternal inspiration for discipleship and learning how to lead others to Christ.
My faith has been a steady belief my whole life, but has honestly lacked true relationship with God until these past two years.
In this short time I have felt a strong call to learn as much as possible about Christ and to use my newfound passion as an avenue to guide others.
Nothing makes me feel more whole and one with Christ than when I am immersed in deep relationship with others – which is why I am so passionate about the Weekender!
When I say I am here with you every step of the way, I mean it!
If you are interested in taking the leap but have a few questions, please reach out! I would love to chat and talk through any hesitations.
I can’t wait to meet you!
xx,
Rachael Baer
